Air BnB for Refugees

Where: World-wide (but particularly USA and Europe).

What: Airbnb has launched Open Homes, where anyone can become a host to someone in need without charging a fee. It has partnered up with trusted agencies who specialise in finding temporary shelter for vulnerable people. These partners seek out the most suitable homes for the people they are supporting, and talk with the hosts to ensure a match.

Start Date: 07 June 2017.

Success: Airbnb has said it wants to house 100,000 displaced people within the next five years. By 7th June 2017, 6,000 people had offered to open their home to refugees at no cost through Airbnb.
