What: Developed by the Bristol Bioenergy Centre (BBiC) in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory at the University of the West of England, the Pee Power device (which turns urine into electricity) is capable of powering lights and charging mobile phones. Project aims to improve lives in refugee camps and in areas of the world with no sanitation or electricity.

Success: Piloted successfully at Glastonbury in 2016 and 2017 (40 person Pee Power unit used). Will conduct its first overseas trial in Uganda later on this year.
